A former ski pole owner accused Thursday of fraudulently acquiring the rights to the trademarks of several brands of ski poles and other equipment has been arrested, according to the California Department of Justice.
Kathy Hockley, 66, of Los Angeles was arrested at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Culver City and charged with two counts of felony wire fraud, according a news release from the department.
Hockley also faces two counts each of unauthorized possession of a trademark, the release said.
She was released on $15,000 bond.
Hocksons attorney, Robert Cottam, said in a statement that he is confident the charges will be dropped.
Cottam said he filed a motion to dismiss the charges Thursday after a three-week investigation.
Hocksons attorneys are still trying to resolve the matter.
